Disorder - Joy Division

The drums are live and have barely any reverb on them creating a dry sound that the band is known for. This creates a dark atmosphere that in my opinion makes the listener feel trapped and isolated. Many people know Joy Division as an extremely depressing band and this added with the fact that the frontman killed himself paints a dark picture for this album. As Ive already said the drums have no reverb on them which is an effect because this isnt how the drums normally, but to contrast this dry drum sound is a heavily reverbed guitar which in my opinion makes the music sound hopeful in a way. The lyrics aren't conventional and definitely feed into this idea of darkness that the album creates. The bassline is fast and continious and seems to carry the song.

Champagne Supernova - Oasis

Champagne supernova starts off with a relaxing sample of the sound of waves crashing against a beach shore. This sets the mood for the rest of the song making the listener feel the atmosphere of the song. The acoustic guitar mixed with the heavily reverbed electirc guitar also intro the song and for me personally creates quite a carefree sound. The singers voice has some sort of echo effect on it which adds to the psychadelic sound of the song. The lyrics are essentially a bunch of nonsense which isn't a bad thing, it has meaning to it and

Distance - Killy

The auto-tune used in the vocals adds a futuristic and spacey vibe to the song. This along with some reverbed synths that play a repeating riff throughout a lot of the song creates a atmospheric feeling. The intro definitely sets the mood for the rest of the song.

Evaluation of Decades Task

Decades Evaluation

Overall this term I think has gone well for me as I started this term off not knowing a lot about Logic but I feel like this term I have improved a lot understanding how to use it more and be more efficient with getting about the software. I also felt like my understanding of studio with Grant has improved this term. But I need to learn the name of the microphones as this is necessary to working in a studio environment.

Decades Playlist Review

Jaidon - Ambient

This track stands out due to its upbeat tempo and its repetitive melody makes it comfortable and easy to listen to for a while. The only issue with this is that after hearing the same loop a ton of times it can start to get boring.

Nathan - Moments

This track samples an iconic line from Ferris Bueller's Day Off and takes other samples from other songs. The song features vocals from Nathan i'm assuming rapping accompanied by a beat he made. This beat has an airy and open atmosphere to it.

Elikem - Deuces

This track in my opinion stands out from the rest of the playlist due to his implementation of reverb and other effects. This created a spacious and comfortable atmosphere to the music. His vocals were auto-tuned but still felt natural and warming. This is probably due to the backing music, but the vocals and music created a good mix.

Dean - Medium

Dean created an old school vibe due to the samples he uses which can get repetitive but if it had someone rapping over it it would be more entertaining. It sounded good and had a solid structure but just got too repetitive and could've done with some chord changes or addition of other instruments but this would've been tricky as a lot of the song was sampled.
